Company records show that Vacheron Constantin was the first Swiss watch Manufacturer to establish itself in the US (in New York City in 1832) and in the early 1900’s, one of the first to create made to order timepieces for the original American watch collectors. At nearly the same time the early 1900’s, the Rodeo Land and Water Company was formed, and named its new street Rodeo Drive. As Vacheron Constantin’s prominence has grown in the United States, so has Rodeo Drive’s, becoming the international luxury destination it is today. Over the years, many prominent Americans have become Vacheron Constantin collectors and owners, including Elizabeth Taylor, the writer Henry James, Edith Wharton, President Dwight D. Eisenhower and John D. Rockefeller, as well as actor Marlon Brando, who was given a Vacheron Constantin timepiece by Zsa Zsa Gabor, inscribed “To Marlon, Love Zsa Zsa.”

From now on, the new boutique will welcome watch collectors and enthusiasts from all over the world in more than 1600 square feet of floor space. The rich and elegant architectural and decorative details highlight the quality of craftsmanship, sophisticated level of refinement, and high level of finishing of the timepieces on display. Custom crafted limestone flooring is complimented by sleek showcases and walls finished in fine Venetian plaster. Two custom-made Murano crystal chandeliers grace the center of the boutique, and warm wood paneling adds to the elegance and refinement of the décor. The boutique will offer the entire range of collections from the Geneva-based manufacture, as well as exclusive boutique models. An in-house watchmaker will offer advice and service.
