Vacheron Constantin, two exceptional events for the opening of its new Parisian Boutique at 2 rue de la Paix
Vacheron Constantin invited a prestigious selection of guests to two unique events to celebrate the opening of its first Boutique in Paris. An exceptional evening of ballet first brought them together at the Palais Garnier to honor the tercentenary of the French Dance School (Ecole française de danse) created by Louis XIV. Mrs. Aurélie Filippetti, French Minister of Culture and Communication, was present alongside Juan-Carlos Torres, CEO of Vacheron Constantin, sponsor of the Gala. During this event, guests could discover the unique timepieces Métiers d’Art Hommage à l’Art de la Danse, specially created for the occasion. And, the next day, Vacheron Constantin celebrates its new Boutique at 2 rue de la Paix.
The opening of Vacheron Constantin’s first Boutique in Paris is a major event. The Geneva-based fine watchmaker’s guests attended a Gala evening celebrating the tercentenary of the French Dance School on Monday April 15th in a crowded and a splendidly decorated Palais Garnier among some 2000 people. A unique performance based on works of the repertoire as well as two creations interpreted by the young dancers of the School and the leading dancers of the Opéra National de Paris.
As a partner of the ballet of the Opéra national de Paris since 2007, Vacheron Constantin wished to sponsor this outstanding evening, one day before the opening of its first Parisian Boutique at the 2 rue de la Paix.
During this Gala evening at the Palais Garnier, Juan-Carlos Torres, CEO of Vacheron Constantin, reaffirmed the bonds uniting both institutions: « Vacheron Constantin has been a patron of the Opéra national de Paris since 2007. This partnership is an honor as well as a commitment. Our manufacture truly wishes to ensure the influence and long life of this unique know-how. Sometimes unknown, often practiced in the background or behind the scenes, this art is nevertheless the incarnation of human genius.
The Opéra national de Paris constitutes as such a rich source of extraordinary artistic pursuits. This know-how, although different from watchmaking, also contributes to the construction of a world that wouldn’t shine without the help of a human hand.
As we attended this unique representation, the hand, the gesture, the movement touched by grace, guided by experience and tradition, awakened the purest emotion within us. »
An emotion shared by numerous personalities present during this exceptional evening, chaired by Mrs. Lily Safra, a generous sponsor of the tercentenary of the French Dance School. In addition to Mrs. Aurélie Filippetti, French Minister of Culture and Communication, Bernadette Chirac, Valérie Trierweiler, Alain Delon or Stéphane Bern wished to honor the tercentenary of the French Dance School with their presence.
During the evening opening of the Boutique that took place the day after – an evening dedicated to dance and opera as well – Vacheron Constantin presented several exclusive watches, created for the occasion. Among them, as an ultimate refinement and in the lines of the exceptional timekeepers designed by the fine watchmaking manufacturer since its creation in 1755, Vacheron Constantin unveiled a new collection dedicated to the tercentenary of the French Dance School. Three unique models Hommage à l’Art de la Danse, revealing the ancestral art of Grand Feu Grisaille enameling.
